Oh, It Went Down

Cottam family Monopoly throwdown 2009: we wanted it to be epic. We hoped it would be epic. And baby. It. Was. EPIC! From about 9pm to 4am it went down!

It all started out on the up and up. Everyone giving the trophy a little love.

Okay, maybe Sam gave it a lot of love.

Mom & Dad were feeling confident.

Adam & Audrey were all smiles.

Megan & Quinn were ready to give it their best shot.

Hmm, this guy looks confident. Not sure why. Starting out, Chris didn't have jack squat in the way of properties. Off to a slow start...

"Stern Sam" showed off his negotiating style. After he helped finance Adam's big pimp'in Boardwalk/Park Place monopoly, it came back to bite him in the form of some a Community Chest card: "Take a walk on the Boardwalk". Ouch! Gotta be careful with the Chest Action, Sam. It can get you into trouble!

Adam seems pretty amused by Sam's final offer: Adam forgives Sam his $2,000 debt and pays him $1,500! Sounds fair to me!

"Miss Priss" isn't willing to help out. She just wants GREEN!

"You'll never get green!" Dad thinks it's pretty funny. (It was!)

I think Mom's expression says it all...

And this went on for hours!

In the end, it was Chris who came back to take it all! Amazing!

We hereby vote for starting the next Monopoly game at 12 noon. We're too old for this, and in fact, have still not recovered.
